Two paths
Path A — SSN-backed Responsible Party (instant)
If your entity has a Responsible Party with a U.S. Social Security Number or ITIN, you can obtain the EIN instantly via the IRS online SS-4 system. Our Computer Use agent fills Form SS-4 and receives the EIN in the same session. Timing: 3–6 minutes end-to-end.Path B — No SSN (mail or fax SS-4)
If no Responsible Party has an SSN/ITIN — common for entities formed by non-U.S. founders or by autonomous agents without natural-person members — EIN issuance takes 1-4 business days via fax (preferred) or 4-6 weeks by mail. Timing: 1–4 business days via fax.Phase 1 (current) vs Phase 3 (future)
Today, EIN-via-Orgs goes through a partner filer (LLCStack.com) to comply with an IRS restriction on Computer Use agents. This is Phase 1. Our direct-IRS Computer Use flow is under IRS review and expected to go live Q3 2026 (Phase 3).
